Volunteers

pinkgirlStrength in Numbers

Philanthropic organizations depend on the selfless commitment of talented individuals who are willing to share their skills and wear many hats to see a project through to success. Razia’s Ray of Hope is no exception. We are deeply grateful to the following volunteers, who give so much of themselves to our organization, simply from the goodness of their hearts.

Amy Letteney

Amy is committed to aiding the people of Afghanistan. As a founding board member of Beyond the 11th, she has firsthand experience creating a successful Afghan aid organization in the United States. After Beyond the 11th, Amy assisted a number of smaller nongovernmental organizations with their day-to-day workings. This experience provided invaluable insight into the challenges faced by the Afghan people, an understanding of the rigors of developing an effective strategy in the United States, and a network of associates in the US and Afghanistan. Amy is now a Director of Project Development for Arzu, a 501c3 that, through the sale of heirloom quality rugs, provides social benefits programs to weavers in Afghanistan.

triciaTricia Glass

Tricia Glass is a Director of Project Development at the Chicago-based nonprofit Arzu, which provides income to rug weavers and their families in Afghanistan by sourcing and selling their exquisite rugs. Current projects include construction of a community center for women in Dragon Valley, Bamyan. Aiding the people of Afghanistan became a priority for Tricia during her experience working with the founding members of the Boston-based nonprofit Beyond the 11th, and led to work on projects for other nonprofits that operate in one of the poorest countries in the world. Closer to home, Tricia has served on the boards at her girls’ schools and supports organizations that offer education opportunities to children in underserved neighborhoods.
