Mia Barron is an Obie and Drama Desk winning actor. Her most recent work in New York was in the off-Broadway premiere of Hurricane Diane, for which she was an awarded an Obie for Performance. Before that, she was in Sarah Delappe’s hit production of The Wolves at Lincoln Center for which she was awarded both the Obie and Drama Desk Awards. She co-created (alongside director Lars Jan) and starred in a theatrical adaption of Joan Didion’s The White Album, which toured to BAM’s Next Wave and the Sydney Festival. Other stage work includes the New York premieres of Pulitzer-winner Bruce Norris’s The Pain and the Itch, (Playwrights Horizons), Domesticated (Lincoln Center), Tom Stoppard’s Tony-award winning trilogy The Coast of Utopia (Lincoln Center), Beau Willimon’s Spirit Control (Manhattan Theatre Club), Jonathan Marc Sherman’s Knickerbocker (Public Theatre), Moira Buffini’s Dying for It (Atlantic Theatre Company), and many other productions at Williamstown Theatre Festival, Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, and countless new plays with off-Broadway companies whose mission is to support emerging playwrights.
Collaboratively devised work includes the off-Broadway production of Big Times (directed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman), which she co-wrote and performed; the Lake Lucille Project’s Uncle Vanya and Balm in Gilead with Michael Shannon in the Lucille Project’s warehouse in Brooklyn.
Television work includes playing Marcia Morrissey in the Law and Order series True Crime: Mendendez Murders opposite Edie Falco, recurring roles on Jenji Kohan’s HBO show The Devil You Know as well as Get Shorty and NCIS. Other television work includes Newsroom, Elementary, Glee, Blue Bloods, Grey’s Anatomy, Medium, Numb3rs, The Sarah Silverman Program, NCIS, Bones, Modern Family, Children’s Hospital, Law and Order, Criminal Intent, as well as a long-running role as the voice of Molotov on The Venture Brothers (Cartoon Network). Film work includes the upcoming independent 40, I Smile Back, The F Word, 27 Dresses, Amnesiac, 411, and Righteous Kill.
Mia is also an award-winning audiobook narrator. She holds a BFA and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.
